ABOUT THE CAREGIVERS

My name is Judy Erlichman.  I have been operating True Companion Pet Sitting for several years now.  My pet sitting service has evolved over the years, starting off by first taking care of pets belonging to friends, then word of mouth, and eventually building up to a full-fledged business.

My background is in animal rescue (both as an individual and with an organization), and my husband Gary and I have fostered and placed more than 50 dogs into loving homes over the years.  Our energies are focused elsewhere these days, but in an effort to still help out, you will see animals in need of permanent homes posted on this web site.  You will also find information about organizations and businesses that I believe make a difference in the lives of animals.

My background in rescue as well as the experience I have acquired with my own pets has laid a strong foundation for pet sitting.  I have experience with various health problems as well as some experience with dog training and behavioral issues.  In the fall of 2008, I was fortunate to attend a Paw Medics seminar presented by Vince Obsitnik, DVM, from The Animal Medical Clinic in Peachtree City (www.TheAnimalMedicalClinic.com), which was most informative.  It covered topics on basic pet first aid for pet owners ranging from handling injured animals to pet CPR.

I am also fortunate to have worked with Anne Hudson, a local animal behaviorist and dog trainer (www.funpups.com).  I have had great success with my Hurricane Katrina dog Gracie using Anne's positive training methods.  In September 2005 after the hurricane, I had the opportunity to spend a week in Gonzalez, Lousiana, volunteering with various animal rescue organizations, including The Humane Society of the United States and the ASPCA (among many others), working with Hurricane Katrina animal survivors.  Gracie has been a challenge, but a challenge made much easier because of Anne's help.

I love what I do, and I am happy to provide a service to people in my community.  For me, it is all about what's in the best interest of the animals – it’s that simple.

*** I am pleased to introduce Hope Colvin to all of my clients.  Hope is a much-needed and welcome addition to True Companion Pet Sitting and will also be offering excellent care to your pets starting in the summer of 2009.  Hope has experience with both dogs and cats as well as various wildlife, drawing upon her five years of experience volunteering at Second Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Grantville, GA.  Over the past decade she has cared for the animals of several Fayette County and Atlanta-area families, including my personal pets.  Hope has recently returned to Peachtree City with her husband and son, along with their Boston Terrier, Beulah, and Bug (Boston Terrier/Pug mix), Bitty.  ***

***Pam Allen was welcomed by the True Companion Pet Sitting team in the spring of 2010.  She has a love of animals that goes back many years.  She enjoys spending time with animals and experiencing the bond and connection that inevitably follow once she gets to know your pets.  She has several years' experience pet sitting for some of her house cleaning clients.  Pam has also worked at Second Chance Rehabilitation Center in Grantville, GA, caring for some of the "wilder" animals, i.e., raccoon, possum, coati mundi, and fox, etc.  Pam co-habits with 3 dogs, 3 pair of doves, chickens, fish and rabbits.***

***True Companion Pet Sitting is happy to be working with Pam Newton.  She has many years' experience taking care of her own pets as well as pets of family and friends.  She currently lives in Peachtree City with her husband, her two daughters, her West Highland Terrier, Ella, and a guinea pig named Penelope.  When Pam was growing up, her favorite pet was her Schnauzer, Sabrina, who slept with her every night and was her constant companion.  Pam is very attentive and will take great care of your dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals like hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs.  The strangest pets she has cared for were two Madagascar hissing cockroaches that her daughter brought home from school over Christmas break.  What a treat!***
