ABOUT THE CAREGIVERS

My name is Judy Erlichman.  I have been operating True Companion Pet Sitting and working as a professional pet sitter since 2007.  I had, however, been pet sitting for several years prior to making pet sitting my profession.  My pet sitting service has evolved over the years, starting off by first taking care of pets belonging to friends, then word of mouth, and eventually building up to a full-fledged business.

My background is in animal rescue (both as an individual and with an organization), and my husband Gary and I have fostered and placed more than 50 dogs into loving homes over the years.  Our energies are focused elsewhere these days, but we will never turn a blind eye to an animal in need.  We will occasionally post photos and bios of animals needing permanent homes.  You will also find information about organizations and businesses that I believe make a difference in the lives of animals.

My background in rescue as well as the experience I have acquired with my own pets has laid a strong foundation for pet sitting.  I have experience with various health problems as well as some experience with dog training and behavioral issues.  In the fall of 2008, I was fortunate to attend a Paw Medics seminar presented by Vince Obsitnik, DVM, from The Animal Medical Clinic in Peachtree City (www.TheAnimalMedicalClinic.com), which was most informative.  It covered topics on basic pet first aid for pet owners ranging from handling injured animals to pet CPR.

I am also fortunate to have worked with Anne Hudson, an animal behaviorist and dog trainer. I have had great success with my Hurricane Katrina dog Gracie using Anne's positive training methods.  In September 2005 after the hurricane, I had the opportunity to spend a week in Gonzalez, Louisiana, volunteering with various animal rescue organizations, including The Humane Society of the United States and the ASPCA (among many others), working with Hurricane Katrina animal survivors.  Gracie has been a challenge, but a challenge made much easier because of Anne's help.  Anne has since moved away, but I am happy to recommend professional dog trainer Robin Sockness of My Best Buddy Dog Training and Behavior Solutions.  You can find her at www.MyBestBuddyDogTraining.com

I love what I do, and I am happy to provide a service to people in my community.  For me, it is all about what's in the best interest of the animals – it’s that simple.

In order to accommodate all of the client requests for True Companion's services, I am happy to work with the following qualified and caring pet sitters:

*** I am pleased to introduce Hope Colvin to all of my clients.  Hope is a much-needed and welcome addition to True Companion Pet Sitting and will be offering excellent care to your pets starting in the summer of 2009.  Hope has experience with both dogs and cats as well as various wildlife, drawing upon her five years of experience volunteering at Second Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Grantville, GA.  Over the past decade she has cared for the animals of several Fayette County and Atlanta-area families, including my personal pets.  Hope has recently returned to Peachtree City with her husband and son, along with their Boston Terriers, Beulah and Gibby, and Bug (Boston Terrier/Pug mix), Bitty.  Hope volunteers with the Boston Terrier Rescue organization helping any way that she can.***

***Pam Allen was welcomed by the True Companion Pet Sitting team in the spring of 2010.  She has a love of animals that goes back many years.  She enjoys spending time with animals and experiencing the bond and connection that inevitably follow once she gets to know your pets.  She has several years' experience pet sitting for some of her house cleaning clients.  Pam has also worked at Second Chance Rehabilitation Center in Grantville, GA, caring for some of the "wilder" animals, i.e., raccoon, possum, coati mundi, and fox, etc.  Pam co-habits with 3 dogs, 3 pair of doves, chickens, fish and rabbits.***

***Meet Vicky Bell.  Vicky has had a love for animals since she was a child, often taking in stray dogs and cats and finding them good homes.  She loves all animals and was a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for many years and has volunteered with a local wildlife rehabilitation center in the past.  She has a unique interest in reptiles and has given many live reptile programs for school children in the Atlanta area as well as at The Fernbank Museum.  She also has had experience caring for birds as well as horses and pot belly pigs.  Vicky also currently works part time at a local kennel taking care of a variety of dogs.***

***True Companion Pet Sitting is happy to be working with Amber Watson.  As far back as Amber can remember, she has always had a passion for animals.  Since her first kitten in elementary school, she has always had pets in her life (dogs, cats, hamsters, iguanas & squirrels).  After acquiring a horse in middle school, Amber continued to follow her passion and obtained a degree in animal science in 2007 from the University of Georgia.  Amber has gained valuable experience shadowing small and large animal vets, working at the UGA equine breeding barn and fostering stray dogs with her college roommate.  After leaving her corporate job to become a stay-at-home mom, Amber has incorporated professional pet sitting into her life.  For the last 8 years of Amber's life journey, her dogs Baylee (Weimaraner) and Houston (Boxer) have been by her side, and she wouldn't have it any other way.***

***Gina Spence has been a wonderful addition to the True Companion Pet Sitting crew!  Animals have been a part of Gina's life since she was a small child (dogs, cats, birds & rabbits).  She has volunteered with local rescue and rehabilitation groups in the past and currently shares her life with Andy, her gorgeous standard poodle, Isobella, her cute little Pekinese, and kitty kitty.  Because of her diverse background and experience caring for many different breeds of animals, she instinctively understands the differences between the needs and the care of both large and small pets.  She looks forward to loving and caring for your babies.  Photo coming soon!***
